Substance Abuse Prevention Program

Description

The substance abuse prevention program is an 8-hour (2 weeks) program that is built upon a view of how to deal with the urge, triggers, feelings, and emotional behaviors related to their addictions. It has six main components: Substance Dependency, First Steps, Spirituality, Feelings, Relapse Prevention, and Life Management. Each of these components accompanies specific strategies and skills that are taught during the two weeks in role plays and daily activities. During the sessions, participants are exposed to tools to help them with anger, depression, anxiety, emotions, social interactions, and other aspects to help them in daily life. These real-life conflicts are then used for role-plays and session exercises. The instructor will monitor sign-in/sign-out sheets, manage daily attendance/absences, and report no-shows to the assigned court liaison. NBT will provide quarterly and annual reports that will include statistical data for the purpose of determining the effectiveness of the program.
